Teachers: ban creationism in UK schools

Flying Spaghetti MonsterThe National Union of Teachers is concerned about the growing influence of crazy creationists in the UK's schools:

A motion to be debated at the NUT's annual conference in Torquay over the Easter weekend calls for an end to state funding for faith schools, and legislation "to prevent the growing influence of religious organisations in education and the teaching of creationism or intelligent design as a valid alternative to evolution".

In a typical piece of Newlabourspeak, the Department for Education claims that segregating children into different schools according to their religion "make[s] an important contribution to community cohesion by promoting inclusion."

Why don't we have a Flying Spaghetti Monster city academy?
