Gowers: case for term extension still rubbish
I just spoke on a copyright panel with Andrew Gowers, who produced a review of the UK intellectual property framework for the Treasury last year. I'm glad to hear that he continues to take a robust line on the economic case for an extension of the term of copyright in sound recordings. Despite the "unrelenting lobbying" of the music industry, he is quite clear that such a case simply does not exist.
