Conservative leader backs copyright term extension

It seems that David Cameron wishes to cement Gordon Brown's reputation for good economic sense, and the Tories' record of supporting big business against consumers (via Open Rights Group).

In a speech today to an industry lobby group, Cameron suggested transferring £3.3bn from consumers to record company shareholders over the next 50 years by extending the term of copyright. He also said that Internet Service Providers should be forced to block access to filesharing sites.
